Let the Christmas Carols Begin!

The Christmas Tree
at our Church last year
Today is November 1, which for me, is the beginning of my daily dose of Christmas music! Yes, its a bit early, not to mention a bit whacky, but what can I say, I love Christmas, and like most people, consider it one of the happiest times of the year.

I haven't always been this way. It all started about 3 years ago when I met Laura.  Laura and I met at AIU when I worked with her on a few projects. Soon I received a promotion and began working under Laura. We clicked immediately, and even though she was my boss, I quickly considered her (and continue to consider her) a wonderful friend.

On November 1, 2007 I heard Christmas music coming from Laura's cube. I thought my ears were playing tricks on me because it seemed awfully early! So I went to investigate and sure enough, there Laura was, smiling from ear to ear, listening to her Christmas carols. Laura told me about how much she loves Christmas and that every year, as soon as Halloween is over, she brings in her Christmas CD's and begins celebrating.

Me & Laura
Well, I was hooked! Why not extend the holiday cheer and listen to something that makes me happy? It reminds me of something my mother-in-law always says, "anticipation is half the fun!"  That's exactly how I feel about listening to Christmas music earlier than the average person, which by the way, I'm listening to as I type. It not only builds my excitement that will culminate on Christmas Day, but it immediately gets me into the holiday spirit.  I always find people are more compassionate and kind during the holiday season, so why not start that early?

Here's one of the many Christmas stations I listen to on Pandora: Christmas Station. Happy Christmas music day everyone!

Thanks for starting one of my favorite Christmas traditions Laura.
