Wow, I've been a terrible blogger. The holiday season has officially begun and things have been a little busy! Ryan and I just got back from Texas for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful to see our family that we miss so terribly much. We also got to celebrate our niece's 3rd birthday! Being an aunt to Aiden or Aidy as we call her is one of the greatest roles in my life.
Aidy is the first baby in the family and has quickly become the joy of the family. We all think she is perfect in every way. I was lucky enough to meet Aidy an hour after she was born and I loved her instantly. She was swaddled up, with her little pink hands by her face, and looked exactly like my sister. It was one of the best moments of my life.

Aidy is 3 years old now (I can't believe she's 3!) and has grown more and more amazing every time I see her. She is incredibly sweet, always willing to share her food, toys, or anything she owns with you with the kind words "for Ambie" (her name for me). She's also very thoughtful - just a few days ago I was trying to open her package of play-do and she said "Ambie, I get scissors, don't hurt hands." A 3-year-old said this! She loves to crawl in my lap and snuggle and has an infectious laugh, smile, and overall happiness that affects us all. She's very independent and smart, not to mention hilarious, playful, fun, loving, and so much more. Aidy is a true blessing in our lives.

Saying goodbye to Aiden is always difficult for me. The first time I said goodbye to her was only a couple days after her birth. I'm not a person who cries easily, but I boo-hoo'ed at the hospital, on the way to the airport, at the airport, and even on the plane. I was the lunatic woman crying alone on the airplane! I still well up when I know a goodbye is near, especially when she says "love", which is her way of saying "I love you." I know how much of her childhood I'm missing, but thankfully she always remembers me, greets me with a "hi Ambie!" and we pick up right where we left off.
Oh my, that baby does make us all so happy, doesn't she?
