I have an itch. An itch to write – and I blame it on Seattle. The city we’ve lived in for almost a year and a half, and the place I’m happy to call home for the next 5 ½ years. Everyone dabbles in the arts in Seattle, whether it is music, poetry, art, photography, culinary arts, literature, you name it. Seattleites understand the importance of mental and physical health. It’s like yoga (which I’ve started since moving here), it not only improves your flexibility and strengthens your muscles, but it also teaches you how to quiet your mind, de-stress, and meditate. That’s exactly where I am in my life – I have a healthy mind and body, and I’ve never been happier. So why a blog? Why not paint or take photos or something? Well, writing is the most natural form of expression for me. Besides being a dancer or a musician like I used to be. And I may still get back into dancing or playing music, or do all of those things including painting and photography! Maybe I’ll even post some of it on my blog!
I’m in a really happy place in my life and I truly feel that each year just gets better and better. That’s what I plan to talk about here: the big stuff and the small stuff that makes me happy every single day. I got the idea for this blog from yoga (I swear every blog will not be about yoga!) We always end with Savasana or the Relaxation Pose, and every time I’m able to enter an intense meditation and float away to what I like to call "my happy place." I won’t tell you what my happy place is or who is there, but I want this blog to be just like that, a happy place, because no matter how many things may go wrong in a day, there’s always, and I mean ALWAYS something to be happy about! My hope is that this blog will make you a little bit happier too!
I loved reading about your happy place and it made me think of one. It feels great to spend five minutes in that place. I have all my family members and friends there. Hey Amber, you and Ryan are there too. I love Seattle. Hope to see you soon.
