Ryan and I took a trip to the San Juan Islands this weekend, which are about 2 1/2 hours from Seattle. It was one of the most, if not the most beautiful place we have ever been.
We biked Lopez Island, hiked Orcas Island, and stayed at Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The most memorable part of the whole trip (besides spending time together) was our whale watching excursion. Even though it was late in the season, we saw about 30 Orcas (Killer Whales), 15 of which swam right up to our boat! We could have easily touched them! The guides told us they had never experienced anything like it in the many years they have been giving whale watching tours. We felt incredibly lucky. What a wonderful place that must have been! I am so excited for you, that is the kind of experience you will never forget. I'll bet the Orcas were spectacular!

You really can hear them breathing! I got goose bumps and you know me and animals...you are changing me by the moment! So, so awesome; glad you guys had that great experience!
